I’m Chuck—part precision woodworker, part problem-solver, and 100% “if it’s worth making, it’s worth making right.” USA Custom Handmade started as a passion project and grew into a small workshop where every piece is built by real hands, one at a time.
I love clean lines, tight joinery, and the kind of finish you can feel. If something leaves our shop, it’s because we’d be proud to gift it ourselves.
I handle the woodworking side of the operation—breaking down stock, milling, building, sanding, and finishing. I’m also the one who thinks through the details that make a piece last: grain direction, stability, durability, and how it will live in a real home day after day.
And yes—if you send a message with a custom request, odds are I’m the person reading it. We keep things personal on purpose.
Table saw & sled: The heart of clean, repeatable accuracy.
Random orbital sander: The unglamorous hero that makes a piece feel finished.
Calipers & squares: Because “close enough” is how squeaks and gaps are born.
Router (with the right bit): For that final edge detail that makes people say, “Whoa.”
I’m a fan of hardwoods with character—grain that looks alive, not printed. We focus on American-sourced materials and build pieces meant to be used, not just displayed.
If you’re choosing a gift and you’re unsure, I’ll always steer you toward something that balances beauty with everyday durability.
When someone chooses one of our pieces for a wedding, anniversary, or housewarming, it means they’re trusting us with a moment. That’s the part I never take lightly. A great piece of woodwork isn’t just accurate—it’s meaningful.
Favorite movie to watch after a long build: Something satisfying and well-made—think Ford v Ferrari (craft, precision, and a little grit).
Least favorite place: The hardware store… when I’m there because I forgot one tiny thing. (I never forget one tiny thing. Except when I do.)
Go-to snack in the shop: Anything that can be eaten one-handed without getting sawdust involved.
What I’ll never get tired of: Seeing a finished piece in someone’s home—especially when it’s a gift with a story behind it.
These are placeholders—swap in your best “process” or “finished piece” photos when you’re ready.
